Hey, I’m Samael, just call me Sam.

*they/he

I burn for capturing passions – facettes of personalities, sparks of aesthetics, vibes. And in the end, memories. Something meaningful, intimate, raw.

I’m in love with art, poetry and music. Classical greek sculptures, baroque, romantic & pre-raphaelitic paintings gothic cathedral architecture and victorian greenhouses always made me feel on a deeper level, so I studied History of Art, what enriched the way I approach my photography today.

The melancholic, the sensual, the individual and intimate. For me it’s always about emotions, stories, personality –

I want people to feel seen for who they are – cause I know how it feels like.

Creating something together that captures how they want to be seen, how they feel, what matters to them. I’m so here for empowerment.

The things that have a darker side to them, always had a way to draw me in.

I have been a self-employed photographer since 2017, but fell in love with documenting everything with my analogue camera as a child. I shoot dark fantasy portraits, kinky boudoir, cinematic cosplay & larp, document weddings and work at film sets. I also love to support small businesses with pictures that represent the core of their creative work and offer product photography.

Trust is sacred to me. Connection. Consent.

I’m trans & it’s a joy for me to create with my queer community. I want you to feel welcomed, no matter your gender, body, sexuality, expression.

Another important aspect of my work is my love for animals – I’m vegan and try to avoid as much harm as realistically possible for me. So I keep away from photographing in zoos, aquariums, take pictures of horseback riding or with alpakas, as well as with wildlife species (such as foxes, birds of prey, doves,…).

I’m on the calmer side of life. Living in the countryside with my love Cali (who is a fantastic middle-earth inspired goldsmith), nestled between forests & valleys, focusing on what brings me joy. When I’m not taking pictures, I paint, write, read, build costumes or play videogames.

The crooked trees, moss-covered stones & cobblestone streets are my realm, as is my dark fantasy-themed studio.

We can shoot outdoors, whether between moss-covered rocks & crooked trees or moody cobblestone alleys. Or indoor, in my fantasy-themed studio room, which is my little safe space I want to offer, especially for boudoir sessions or portraiture independent from weather changes.

Sounds like you? Send me a message & we’ll see what I can do for you!
